On February 27, 2016, International University Liaison Indonesia held its second Open House with the theme “Indonesian Youth in the Face of AFTA; Dare to Dream Big”. This event took place at the IULI campus, The Breeze, BSD City.
On this occasion, the IULI founder, Dr.-Ing. Ilham A. Habibie MBA gave the keynote speech related to the theme of the Open House. The event began with a performance from the IULI students using traditional Indonesian musical instruments to entertain the guests, consisting of prospective students and parents, teachers and principals of SMAs and representatives of IULI’s partner universities in Europe. Among the guests was the deputy director of the German Academic Exchange Service – DAAD for Indonesia, Dr. Svan Langguth.
The prospective students and parents took the opportunity to discuss with the faculties the details of the study programs, especially related to the AFTA era for Indonesian students. The prospective students were introduced to some of the latest laboratory equipment imported from Germany, which is used daily to support the study of IULI students. Another new facility that is a source of pride for IULI is the library that is supported by the latest electronic system and has access to more than seventy thousand international scientific journals as well as hundreds of thousands of electronic books from IULI’s major partner university, TU-Ilmenau, Germany.
Tutuko Prajogo, MSMfgE, the IULI rector, said: “The objective of this Open House is to increase the motivation of prospective students for the challenges they will face going forward and to show the progress that has IULI has during its first year”.
The rector also congratulated the students winning scholarships at IULI for the even semester, 2016 and expects that the younger generation of Indonesia can continue to add to the insights and skills needed for the progress of the Indonesian nation.
During the event there was a MoU signing between IULI and Aerotrack Pte. Ltd. to promote industry-university collaboration and joint research. Aerotrack Pte. Ltd. is a Singapore based company and a certified provider of leading edge avionics software solutions for flight planning, flight tracking and fuel management.
