IULI’s Head of Hotel and Tourism Management Joins ASEAN Skills Competition as Judge and Trainer

IULI’s Head of Hotel and Tourism Management study program, Mr. Timotius Agus Rachmat has participated as an expert in cooking in the ASEAN Skills Competition 2018, in Bangkok, Thailand. He trained the participants from Indonesia and was also a judge at the competition. The event took place from 26 August to 5 September 2018 and Indonesia took home two medallions of excellence.

The ASEAN Skills Competition (ASC) is the biggest professional education skills excellence event in the ASEAN (The Association of Southeast Asian Nations – ASEAN) region. The competition’s objective is to promote and upgrade skills standards in the ASEAN region to an international level, as well as to motivate youths to develop their skills to meet international standards and current technologies.

The participants represent their country and are selected from skills competitions in ASEAN member countries and regions. They demonstrate technical abilities both individually and collectively to execute specific tasks for which they study and/or perform in their workplace.

Indonesia has sent about 44 participants to join the ASEAN Skill Competition 2018 at IMPACT, Thailand.
