IULI’s Dies Natalis, Saturday 3 October 2015

IULI’s Anniversary Day, its dies natalis, was celebrated for the first time on 3 October, 2015. It celebrates the day in 2014 when IULI received its license from the Federal Ministry of Education of the Republic of Indonesia (SK DIKTI No. 425/E/O/2014).

The theme of this first year of IULI has been “Establishing Higher Education in Indonesia”and IULI will celebrate its first anniversary on 10 October 2015 during the ‘Oktoberfest 2015’, held by IULI’s student organization in the IULI campus 1 at The Breeze, BSD City.

About Dies Natalis

The anniversary of the university is called its Dies Natalis (Latin for ‘birthday’). But can you say a university is really ‘born’? And what day should we regard as a foundation day? In the history of IULI, four dates are milestones:

  • On January 21, 2013, the establishment of the IULI Foundation with Dr.-Ing. Ilham Habibie, MBA as the chairman.
  • On June 28, 2013, legalization of the IULI Foundation by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia.
  • On July 27, 2014, Visitation and Assessment by DIKTI’s officials at IULI
  • On October 2, 2014, the Federal Ministry of Education of the Republic of Indonesia issued the license for IULI (SK DIKTI No. 425/E/O/2014).

The board decided to celebrate 3 October as the dies natalis because it combines with the national day of Germany (“Unification Day”) and, of course, Germany is our main educational partner in Europe.

Happy birthday IULI.
