Theory Meets Practice, IULI Initiate Cooperation with GMF AeroAsia

On Monday, 23 November 2015, IULI visited PT. GMF AeroAsia (Garuda Maintenance Facility AeroAsia), one of the largest aircraft maintenance facilities in Asia. The representatives were Prof. Bernd Hamacher, coordinator for Aviation Engineering in Europe, Dr. Ir. Tutuko Prajogo, MSMfgE, the IULI rector and Prof. Peter Pscheid, Co-chairman of IULI Foundation. They were met by Mr. Hermawan Syahrul, Vice President – Learning Center and Corporate Culture of GMF AeroAsia. The visit was to initiate a cooperation between IULI and GMF AeroAsia, particularly in the field of aircraft maintenance engineering, a concentration offered in the IULI Aviation Engineering Department.

GMF AeroAsia is now rightly considered to be one of the best and largest aircraft maintenance companies in the region as well as being the customer’s maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) provider of choice in 2015.

In his remarks, Dr. Tutuko said the meeting to initiate a cooperation was important. “IULI is looking forward to cooperating with GMF AeroAsia. At one of the biggest MROs in Indonesia, IULI students will gain a lot of valuable experience and knowledge from the right source,” he said.
