The year 2017-18 has been a success for IULI in University English competitions at UI, Binus (national and international), UMN, LSPR and Untar. Students have gathered three 1st places, four 2nd places, one 3rd place and six semi-final places (in two of which IULI was beaten by the eventual winners) plus a special award for best creativity in story writing.
In particular, IIULI was successful particularly in speech and paper presentation. Other events were story writing and debate. IULI hopes to enter students in all the above competitions and add story telling in 2018-19.
To boost student confidence, students develop their skills in IULI debate and speech clubs and, for next semester, a story telling club is being proposed. Of course, these events mean students missing classes in what is a busy schedule so the commitment of students and the support of the rectorate and staff make these successes possible.
Although IULI will miss the leadership and guidance of Raditya (sem. 6) because he will be doing his research and internship in Germany, IULI looks to the leadership and guidance of Sahil and Joy, the continued involvement of many students and the influx of fresh talent in semester 1 in August, 2018.
