IULI student wins a Global Korean Scholarship for ASEAN Engineering and Science Students

28 August 2017 – Giovanni Henggar Setyantoro, a student of Aviation Engineering semester 5, won a Global Korean Scholarship for ASEAN Engineering and Science students. This yearly selection process started in June with a thousand applicants. Finally, Giovanni Henggar Setyantoro was announced as one of the five selected candidates from Indonesia. The selected students stayed at the Kyung Hee University Global Campus, South Korea, from July to August, 2017. This program involved 120 participants from ASEAN. The study involved in-depth academic training in the science and engineering fields and is aimed at nurturing future leaders who will contribute to the development of the global society and further friendship between Korea and their home countries.

Giovanni Henggar Setyantoro said that, “I was very excited about this program because it opens the opportunity for me to continue my studies in Korea and to look for a scholarship for my master’s degree in the future.” The 5 representatives from Indonesia came from established, prestigious universities: Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Diponegoro, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Universitas Jendral Sudirman and the new kid on the block, IULI!!

At the end of program, all the participants presented their research results to professors and NIIED (National Institute for International Education) as the scholarship giver was the Korean Government.
