In support of the Annual Earth Hour celebration, IULI joined a lights-off ceremony together with Pemrov DKI Jakarta, WWF, Earth Hour Jakarta, and local communities on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Balai Kota Jakarta. Jakarta’s Governor Anies Baswedan initiated the lights off event by switching off the lights in the city, which started from 8.20-9.30 p.m. By switching off the lights, it cut the city’s electricity by 169.9 Megawatt (MW).
This event was enlivened by performances of percussion groups from the Jakarta Environment Agency, followed by talkshows with speakers such as Anies Baswedan and WWF Indonesia. The event was closed off by a dance from the Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department.
